Mechanics

My vision for this game will be a combination of collecting (items, pet goals, secret unlocks etc) and fantasy breeding game.

Currency $

I’m thinking there will be two types of currency. All currency will be tradeable to other players and earned by playing the game.

Weather System

I woud like to implement a weather mechanic that changes daily with a certain random element to the changing. My idea is that the weather will also impact gameplay in some of the following ways: Currently I do not want weather to change the breeding mechanics I feel like that would be bothersome for people's availablity to play the game and an unnecessary obstacle.

Restocking


I've always enjoyed doing quests and restocking as a method to make currency on pet sites. This is something I want to include in my site as a way to gain currency. The restocking for NPC shops will be at standard intervals during the hour for example: [ 00, :15, :30, :45 ]. I haven't started with the NPC shops mechanics but there will be immediately available to all players and then shops that will have unlocking requirements.

Player Questing


Questing will be one of the ways to earn currency daily as well as other rewards (e.g. special avatar outfits, special pony accessories, or other collectables). Quests will hosted by NPCs which will ask for items that can be bought from NPC shops or other players and reward a value greater than the NPC shop cost. I will likely expand on this idea when I get to that part of the mechanics program wise.

Pony Competitions


Pony competitions will be another major avenue for earning currency. These will be a time based event that happens passively and does not require active play during the event. Basically it will be an event that occurs at a specific time, you sign your pony up and then there will be a calculation to determine the winners and placement. Each pony will be rewarded with exp and the top performers may receive additional bonuses. You can make money from this by leveling up your pony via the pony quests. Each quest will ask to raise your pony level a certain number of times so the better your pony places the faster you can complete quests to earn rewards.

Pony Questing

I'm considering implementing breeding and competition questing.

Competition Questing
Pony questing will be how you can monetize your pony competition victories. Each pony baby/adult will be able to compete in competitions and questing. Quest will require your pony to gain exp and then allocate it to specific stats or level up to a certain number. For example you can receive a quest to reach 30 pts in the intelligence stat. This mechanic is under development
